“WHY WEREN’T WE TAUGHT THIS STUFF WHEN WE WERE YOUNGER?!”

We are asked this question so often by adults doing our courses as they sit back & wonder just how they may have coped differently with the challenges & pressures confronting them way back in their teenage & high school years. Just think how different things could have been having knowledge and practices to help you manage & cope better as life started becoming a whole lot more complicated.
What stresses would have been lessened if you were able to apply those practices when facing exam time, when feeling pressure from peers, when competing in sports or academically, and when dealing with the triggers & expectations from the world of social media,? What would be the impact on your physical or mental health, and your beliefs about yourself when facing difficult times?

Parent and teachers have realised that it’s now more crucial than ever to expose children and students to various stress management strategies, because having those tools in place early in life helps them to cope better in the real world where things don’t always go right, helping to build selfconfidence, greater resiliency and self-empowerment as time goes on.
They’ll even witness a live demonstration showing the relationship between their emotional state, breath & heart rhythms & how quickly they impact one another. It’s really impactful & lets them know without doubt that what they are learning gives them greater control of their physical, mental & emotional states.
Sessions are tailored with stories of great Australian icons & super interesting human biology, delivered in a relatable way that keeps high school students (and staff!) engaged in the learnings. When practical course components are chosen, their physical and mental capabilities are challenged in fun ways and we always finish with zen-like practices so they know what true calmness and composure feels like.
There are considerable gains in just one session, affirming how powerful their minds and bodies are, showing them they are capable of more than they think & boosting self belief.

DELIVERY OPTIONS:

Highly educational, engaging & interactive presentation with so many takeaways for both schooling, sporting & personal life. 

Workshops begin with a highly educational, engaging & interactive presentation with so many takeaways both as a student & life outside of this environment.  Knowledge however is only as good as its practical use, so the practical immersion component is where students get to take their new physical & mental tools & techniques for a test run at varying intensities.  Activities range from being moderately challenging (yet fun!) to extremely relaxing, where students will be guided through many of the same activities as the world champs we’ve worked with, discovering how to turn intensity or overwhelm in to calmness or clarity.  To finish, they will be guided into a space where a profound sense of calmness will be experienced that is usually the calmest they’ve ever felt.

  • Venue for Presentation with large projector screen or TV
  • We have specific venue requirements for the practical immersion components which will be discussed on enquiry.
  • Medical/Liability Form for participants
  • Minimum age 12 years.
  • Ability to swim 100m unassisted, bring fins if not a strong swimmer (at least they have the option to use/not use).
  • Goggles (not a dive mask), we do have spares.
  • Towel & Water bottle
  • Swimmers, Board-shorts or Surf wetsuits – we will advise as this is venue & temperature We lose heat 20-25 times faster in water than on land.  They’ll be in water for a lengthy period of time & it’s no fun and way harder if when they get cold.
